Musculoskeletal Disorder: Is it a Disease or Politics?
Lee Kyeong-Seok

Abstract
Musculoskeletal disorders are explosively increasing from 2000, in Korea. This new occupational disorder is not only a medical problem, but also a social sickness. Some labour unions stroke by group recuperation. They regarded this disorder as a trophy of a conflict between labor and capital. Unfortunately, The musculoskeletal disorders have a potent risk of misdiagnosis or over-diagnosis. There are no accurate diagnostic methods or established criteria for the musculoskeletal disorders. Medically, there are lots of unsolved questions. A significant number of doctors may give this disorder to the poor labourer for their money, just-like a new product of the medical industry. The working environment should be improved. However, this disorder should not be a tool or goal of the strike. Medical experts should investigate this new disorder, extensively. Academically, there should be scientific criteria as soon as possible.
